How to Use the SEO ROI Calculator

Enter your projected monthly organic traffic growth rate as a percentage. Be realistic — typical SEO growth rates range from 5% to 20% per month depending on the site’s starting point and investment level.

 

Step 3: Choose Your Timeframe

Select how many months you want to model — from 1 month up to 24. The projection table and chart will update accordingly.

 

Step 4: Add Your Monthly Investment

Enter your total monthly SEO cost, including agency fees, freelance costs, tools, and any internal resource time. This is used to calculate your net ROI and payback period.

 

Step 5: Review Your Projections

This depends on your starting traffic, domain authority, and investment level. A new site with strong investment might target 10–20% monthly growth. An established site optimising incrementally might use 3–7%.

 

Can I model multiple scenarios?

Yes — adjust your inputs and the results update instantly. We recommend running at least three scenarios (conservative, base, and optimistic) for any meaningful business case.

 

Why is my ROI negative in early months?

This is normal. SEO takes time to compound. The payback period indicator shows when cumulative revenue overtakes cumulative spend — most campaigns reach positive ROI between months 4 and 12.

 

Can I change the currency?

The tool displays values in GBP. If you need a different currency, simply treat the figures as your local currency — the maths is identical.
