Forecast your organic traffic, conversions and revenue over the next 12 months using your website's existing keyword rankings, search demand and transparent growth assumptions. Compare conservative, base and ambitious scenarios, explore the potential impact of AI Overviews and understand what equivalent traffic could cost through Google Ads.
These are rough estimates, not predictions. They are based on assumptions against published click-through rates, useful for comparing options, and are not numbers to be held to.
About the SEO Forecasting Tool
Growthack's free SEO Forecasting Tool helps you estimate how improvements in Google rankings could affect your website's organic traffic, conversions and revenue over the next 12 months.
Enter your domain and target market to analyse existing keyword rankings, search volumes and organic competition. Set your ranking targets, expected timeframe, conversion rate and revenue per conversion to build a forecast based on your business objectives.
Unlike basic SEO forecasting calculators, the tool models ranking improvements at keyword level, accounting for ranking difficulty, historical search seasonality and published organic click-through rate data.
You can also enter your actual monthly organic traffic and revenue to understand how potential ranking improvements could affect your overall business performance, rather than relying solely on estimates from a keyword sample.
Compare standard organic search and AI Overview scenarios, calculate the estimated Google Ads equivalent value of additional traffic and export your results for further analysis.
Every forecast is based on assumptions, not predictions. You control the targets and timeframe, and the calculations and data sources are available for review.
How does the SEO Forecasting Tool work?
The calculator starts with your existing keyword rankings rather than applying an arbitrary growth percentage to your website's traffic.
For each keyword, it models progression from the current ranking position towards your selected target.
Estimated monthly organic clicks are calculated using published click-through rate data and historical keyword search demand.
Three factors influence the modelled ranking progression:
Lead time: Choose how many months pass before ranking improvements begin.
Ranking distance: Keywords further from your target position take longer to reach it.
Keyword difficulty: More competitive keywords are modelled as progressing more slowly.
Because organic click-through rates generally increase substantially towards the top of Google's results, traffic gains are not distributed evenly across the forecast period.
The model also incorporates keyword-level search seasonality, allowing monthly search demand to vary throughout the year.
These calculations provide a structured way to explore potential outcomes. They do not predict whether individual keywords will achieve their target positions.
What can you forecast?
Monthly organic traffic growth
Estimate how your website's organic traffic could develop over the next 12 months as keywords progress towards your chosen ranking positions.
Compare your current visibility against conservative, base and ambitious growth scenarios.
Organic conversions and revenue
Estimate potential conversions and revenue using your website's conversion rate and average revenue per conversion.
Adjust these assumptions to explore how improvements in organic visibility could affect commercial performance.
Conservative, base and ambitious scenarios
Compare three scenarios based on different rates of ranking progression.
Each scenario works towards your selected ranking targets but uses a different timeframe, helping you understand how the speed of improvement affects potential results.
Growth against your actual organic traffic and revenue
Keyword databases do not capture every search query driving traffic to a website, and estimated keyword-level revenue may not reflect your business's actual performance.
Enter your monthly organic traffic and revenue from Google Analytics or another analytics platform to establish more representative starting points.
The calculator adds estimated incremental traffic and revenue from your selected keywords to these baselines, allowing you to explore potential growth in both absolute and percentage terms.
Organic traffic baseline: See how additional visits could affect your website's existing organic traffic.
Organic revenue baseline: Compare estimated additional revenue against what your organic channel already generates, rather than valuing all existing traffic using the forecast's conversion assumptions.
You can enter either figure independently. Where actual revenue is unavailable, the tool estimates the baseline using your conversion rate and revenue per conversion.
This helps distinguish between estimated growth from ranking improvements and the commercial performance your website has already achieved.
Google Ads equivalent traffic value
Calculate the estimated cost of purchasing equivalent traffic through Google Ads using keyword-level cost-per-click data.
This provides a useful comparison between the potential value of organic rankings and paid search traffic acquisition costs.
Keyword-level search seasonality
Account for monthly fluctuations in search demand using each keyword's historical search volume.
This helps distinguish potential ranking improvements from seasonal changes in the number of people searching.
AI Overview traffic scenarios
Explore how AI Overviews could affect organic traffic by switching between published click-through rate models.
The AI Overview model applies an alternative CTR curve to the forecast, allowing you to compare potential outcomes under the assumption that the modelled searches display AI Overviews.
This is a scenario assumption, not a live assessment of which keywords currently trigger AI-generated results.

How to use the SEO Forecasting Tool
Enter your domain and market. Add your website and select the country you want to analyse. The tool retrieves available keyword rankings, search volumes, organic difficulty and cost-per-click data.
Set your forecasting assumptions. Choose your target ranking position, lead time, ranking progression timeframe, conversion rate and revenue per conversion.
Add your actual organic traffic and revenue. Optionally enter your current monthly organic visits and revenue from analytics. These establish more representative baselines for calculating potential traffic and revenue growth. You can provide either or both figures.
Adjust your trading seasonality. Optionally identify months when your business typically converts better or worse. This adjusts the distribution of forecast revenue without changing the annual total.
Compare your forecast scenarios. Review conservative, base and ambitious projections for organic traffic, conversions and revenue.
Explore AI Overview impact. Switch to the AI Overview CTR model to assess how lower organic click-through rates could affect the forecast under that assumption.
Review individual keywords. Select keywords to examine their historical search demand and contribution to the forecast.
Upload your own search data. Use a compatible Google Search Console or rank tracker export to refine the calculations. Search Console data can provide measured clicks and click-through rates.
Export your forecast. Download the model as a CSV, including the assumptions used in the calculations.
What makes our SEO forecasting model different?
Transparent forecasting assumptions
Every forecast is based on ranking targets, timeframes and conversion assumptions that you can review and adjust.
The tool does not present hypothetical ranking improvements as guaranteed outcomes.
Published click-through rate data
Organic traffic estimates use Advanced Web Ranking's Google Organic CTR Study.
The source, publication date and applicable market are identified within the tool.
Keyword-level ranking progression
Rather than applying a fixed percentage increase to overall traffic, the calculator models ranking improvements individually.
Ranking distance and organic keyword difficulty influence the assumed time required to reach your targets.
Historical search seasonality
Monthly search demand is based on keyword-level historical data rather than an evenly distributed annual search volume.
This helps produce scenarios that reflect seasonal differences in search behaviour.
Forecast against your actual business performance
Most keyword-based SEO forecasts estimate both current performance and future growth from the same limited keyword dataset.
Growthack lets you enter your actual monthly organic traffic and revenue to establish more representative starting points.
The calculator adds estimated incremental traffic and revenue to your existing figures rather than scaling the entire forecast to match a keyword sample.
This makes it easier to understand the potential contribution of improved rankings to your website's overall organic performance.
It also allows revenue growth percentages to respond meaningfully when you change your conversion assumptions, because the existing revenue baseline remains fixed.
Your own search data takes priority
Upload Google Search Console data to incorporate measured organic clicks and click-through rates rather than relying entirely on published averages.
Clear limitations
The calculator identifies where estimates may be less reliable, including keywords ranking outside the top ten and keywords without available cost-per-click data.
It is designed to support informed decisions, not provide guaranteed performance projections.
Frequently asked questions
What is an SEO forecasting tool?
An SEO forecasting tool estimates how changes in organic search rankings could affect website traffic, conversions and revenue over a future period.
Growthack's SEO Forecasting Tool uses existing keyword rankings, search demand, published click-through rates and user-defined assumptions to model potential performance over 12 months.
How accurate are SEO forecasts?
SEO forecasts are estimates rather than guarantees.
Actual performance depends on factors including competitors, search engine updates, technical SEO, content quality, user behaviour and changes to search results.
Our calculator uses transparent assumptions and available search data to model potential outcomes. It is most useful for comparing scenarios, evaluating opportunities and supporting commercial planning.
Can you predict future Google rankings?
No tool can reliably guarantee when a website will achieve a particular ranking.
Growthack's calculator lets you select a target position and timeframe, then models the potential traffic and revenue associated with that scenario.
It does not predict that Google will rank your website in that position.
Why does the forecast show limited growth in the first few months?
The calculator models keyword rankings progressing towards your chosen target rather than applying a fixed percentage increase to traffic.
You can also set a lead time before ranking improvements begin.
Because higher organic rankings typically attract disproportionately more clicks, much of the modelled traffic growth may occur later in the forecast period.
What is the difference between conservative, base and ambitious forecasts?
The three scenarios use different assumed rates of ranking progression.
The conservative scenario models slower improvements, while the ambitious scenario models faster progress towards the same target rankings.
Depending on the timeframe, some keywords may not reach their targets within the 12-month forecast period.
How does keyword difficulty affect the forecast?
The calculator uses DataForSEO's organic keyword difficulty score to adjust the assumed speed of ranking improvements.
Higher-difficulty keywords are modelled as taking longer to reach their target positions.
Keyword difficulty is a modelling input, not a reliable prediction of how long an individual keyword will take to rank.
How does the calculator account for seasonality?
The model uses historical monthly search volumes to estimate seasonal changes in keyword demand.
Future months are informed by the corresponding calendar months in the historical dataset.
You can also identify stronger and weaker trading months for your business. This redistributes forecast revenue between months without increasing the total annual revenue estimate.
Where do the organic click-through rates come from?
The calculator uses Advanced Web Ranking's Google Organic CTR Study, based on approximately 1.75 million US Google search results per month.
The current model uses July 2026 data and offers two options:
All SERPs: An aggregate CTR model covering search results with and without AI Overviews.
AI Overview present: A CTR model based on searches where Google displays an AI Overview.
These models help estimate how organic clicks vary by ranking position and search result type.
Actual click-through rates will differ depending on search intent, industry, device, location and individual search features.
For a more representative model, upload Google Search Console data to incorporate your website's measured click-through rates.
Why are US click-through rates used for UK forecasts?
The default Advanced Web Ranking model uses US click-through rate data because the tool does not currently offer a sufficiently comparable UK-specific reference curve.
Your keyword rankings, search volumes, difficulty and cost-per-click data are specific to your selected market.
For a more representative baseline, upload Google Search Console data filtered by country and device.
How do AI Overviews affect SEO forecasts?
AI Overviews can change how frequently users click traditional organic search results.
The calculator allows you to switch to an AI Overview CTR model based on Advanced Web Ranking's published data.
This applies the alternative CTR curve to the modelled keywords so you can explore the potential impact on traffic and revenue.
It does not check whether each keyword currently triggers an AI Overview, and the scenario should not be interpreted as a prediction of future AI Overview coverage.
Should I enter my actual organic traffic and revenue?
Yes. If you have these figures available, they help make your forecast more representative of your website's existing performance.
Actual organic traffic
Without your real traffic figure, the calculator estimates current visits using the keywords available in its dataset.
This can understate your existing traffic because not every keyword is captured, and rankings outside the top ten are assigned zero estimated clicks.
When you enter your actual monthly organic traffic, the calculator adds estimated additional visits from ranking improvements to that baseline.
This produces a more meaningful estimate of potential traffic growth.
Actual organic revenue
Your revenue baseline works slightly differently.
Without actual revenue data, the calculator estimates existing organic revenue using the same conversion rate and revenue per conversion applied to the forecast.
As a result, changing those assumptions affects both the estimated starting revenue and the additional revenue, meaning the percentage increase may remain unchanged.
When you enter your actual monthly organic revenue, the starting figure remains fixed.
Changes to your conversion rate or revenue per conversion then affect the estimated additional revenue without changing what your website already earns.
This provides a more meaningful comparison between potential incremental revenue and your existing organic channel performance.
You can enter either figure independently. Providing both gives you the clearest comparison against your current results.
The forecast remains an estimate. Your actual traffic and revenue improve the baseline calculations but do not guarantee the ranking improvements or additional conversions being modelled.
Can I upload my own Google Search Console data?
Yes. You can paste or upload a compatible Search Console export to incorporate your website's measured organic clicks and click-through rates.
This helps refine the forecast using your actual search performance.
How is the Google Ads equivalent value calculated?
The calculator multiplies estimated organic clicks by the available Google Ads cost per click for each keyword.
This produces an estimate of what purchasing equivalent traffic might cost through paid search.
It is not a measure of SEO profit, avoided advertising expenditure or the actual cost of running a Google Ads campaign.
Why are some cost-per-click figures missing?
Not every keyword has available Google Ads cost-per-click data.
Where data is missing, the keyword can still contribute to the organic traffic forecast, but it does not contribute to the paid equivalent cost estimate.
The tool does not invent missing values.
Can I change the currency?
Yes. The calculator allows you to adjust the currency and exchange rate used for monetary estimates.
This helps keep advertising equivalent values and conversion revenue estimates in the same currency.
Is my uploaded data stored?
Uploaded files are processed within your browser and are not stored by Growthack.
How current is the forecasting data?
The click-through rate models use the published study dates identified within the tool.
Keyword rankings, monthly search volumes, organic difficulty and cost-per-click estimates are provided by DataForSEO using their available datasets.
Historical search demand is used to model seasonality, while future ranking progression is based on your selected assumptions.
Is the SEO Forecasting Tool free?
Yes. Growthack's SEO Forecasting Tool is free to use, with no signup required.
Does the tool replace a professional SEO strategy?
No. The calculator helps estimate potential outcomes, but it cannot determine which keywords are realistically achievable, what resources are required or which opportunities offer the strongest commercial return.
Those decisions require additional analysis of competition, search intent, technical SEO, content, authority and business objectives.
