How to Generate an XML Sitemap
Step 1: Choose Your Input Method
You have two options:
Paste URLs — type or paste your URL list directly into the text area, one URL per line.
Upload CSV — click the file input to upload a CSV file. The tool will automatically detect and extract the URL column.
Step 2: Configure Your Sitemap Settings
Set default values to apply across all URLs: change frequency (how often content changes), priority (relative importance from 0.1 to 1.0), and last-modified date (today’s date is used by default).
Step 3: Preview Your Sitemap
Click Generate Sitemap to compile your URLs into valid XML format. A preview of the output is shown before you download so you can verify the structure looks correct.
Step 4: Download Your Sitemap
Click Download sitemap.xml to save the file. Upload it to the root directory of your website (e.g. https://example.com/sitemap.xml).
Step 5: Submit to Google Search Console
Log into Google Search Console, navigate to Sitemaps under the Index section, and enter your sitemap URL. Google will confirm receipt and begin crawling.
Additional Notes
Sitemaps support a maximum of 50,000 URLs and a maximum file size of 50MB per file. For larger sites, split into multiple files and reference them via a sitemap index file.
Priority values are relative — setting everything to 1.0 provides no useful signal to search engines.
Change frequency is a hint, not an instruction. Google determines its own crawl frequency based on content freshness and PageRank signals.
Including a sitemap does not guarantee indexation. Pages must still meet Google’s quality and technical requirements to appear in search results.

Do I need this if my CMS generates a sitemap automatically?
If your CMS generates an accurate, up-to-date sitemap automatically, you may not need this tool. It’s most useful for static sites, custom URL sets, or when your CMS sitemap excludes pages you want Google to crawl.
What priority should I assign to each page?
Use 1.0 for your homepage, 0.8–0.9 for key landing and service pages, 0.6–0.7 for blog posts and supporting content, and 0.1–0.4 for lower-priority pages like tags or utility pages.
Should I include noindex pages in my sitemap?
No — only include pages you want Google to index. Including noindex pages sends conflicting signals and wastes crawl budget.
Can this tool generate image or video sitemaps?
No — the tool currently generates standard URL sitemaps. Image and video sitemaps require additional XML attributes not currently supported.
Is my URL data saved?
No — all processing is done in your browser. We don’t store or transmit your URL list.
