Map your old URLs to their new homes before you migrate, so you keep the rankings you have worked hard for. Upload your old and new URL lists and the tool matches them intelligently, flags anything that needs a human eye, and exports ready-to-deploy 301 redirects for Apache, Nginx or a spreadsheet.
About this tool
Site migrations, replatforms and URL restructures are one of the most common ways to lose organic traffic. The fix is a complete set of 301 redirects from every old URL to the right new one, and building that by hand across hundreds or thousands of pages is slow and error-prone. This tool does the heavy lifting: give it your old URLs and your new URLs, and it works out the best match for each one.
The matching looks at more than just the path. It compares the page slug, the words across the whole path, and overall similarity, so it still finds the right target when a page has moved section or its URL structure has changed. Every match gets a confidence rating, and the results are sorted so the ones that need checking appear first. When you are happy, export the redirects as a .htaccess file, an Nginx config, or a CSV. Everything runs in your browser, so your URL lists are never uploaded anywhere.
Use cases
Site migrations and replatforms. Move to a new CMS or design without losing your search rankings.
URL restructures. Changing your URL patterns, folders or slugs? Map old to new in minutes.
Domain moves. Point every old URL at its equivalent on the new domain.
Bulk redirect creation. Generate hundreds or thousands of 301 rules at once, ready to paste into your server config.
How to use
Export your old URLs. A list of your current URLs, one per line, from your sitemap, crawl or CMS, as a CSV or TXT file.
Export your new URLs the same way from the new site.
Upload both files.
Filter if you need to (optional). Use a regular expression to include or exclude certain URLs.
Match URLs. The tool pairs each old URL with its best new match and rates the confidence.
Review the flagged matches. Low-confidence pairs are sorted to the top and highlighted, so you can check or correct them.
Export your redirects as .htaccess, Nginx or CSV, and add them to your site.
FAQs
How does the matching work?
It compares each old URL to every new URL using several signals: how similar the slug (the last part of the path) is, how many words the two paths share, and their overall text similarity. The slug is weighted most heavily because it usually stays stable through a migration, so the tool still matches pages correctly even when they have moved section or changed structure.
What do the confidence levels mean?
Each match is rated High, Medium or Low. High and Medium matches are usually safe to accept. Anything rated Low is flagged as Needs Review and sorted to the top, so you can confirm or set the correct target by hand before you deploy.
What formats can I export?
Three: a .htaccess file for Apache, an Nginx config, and a CSV. The redirect files use permanent 301 redirects, and any low-confidence lines are clearly commented so you know to check them.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The whole tool runs in your browser, so your URL lists never leave your computer. Nothing is sent to a server.
What file format should my URL lists be in?
A CSV or TXT file with one URL per line. Exports from most sitemaps, crawlers and CMS platforms work directly.
Will it handle a site whose URL structure has completely changed?
Yes. Because it matches on the slug and shared words rather than exact path position, it copes well with restructures. Where a page genuinely has no close match, it flags it so you can decide the right destination.
Are these permanent redirects?
Yes. The exported rules use 301 (permanent) redirects, which is what you want for a migration so that ranking signals pass to the new URLs.
Is it free?
Yes, free with no signup. If you would like a hand planning or checking a migration so nothing slips through, contact [email protected] or book a call with Growthack.
